Job Opportunity: Perinatal Social Worker

The Royal Hospital for Women offers a unique opportunity to work as a Perinatal Social Worker, providing high-quality clinical social work care to patients and families during the perinatal period. As part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, we are committed to delivering excellence in women's health care through innovative practice and ongoing research.

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with extensive post-graduate hospital experience in clinical social work practice within perinatal/women's health. You will have the opportunity to work with issues of attachment, bereavement, trauma, child protection, and domestic and family violence.

We are looking for an individual with strong negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills, who can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with Indigenous people and marginalised groups.

As a Perinatal Social Worker at The Royal Hospital for Women, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care, and contributing to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Extensive post-graduate hospital experience in clinical social work practice within perinatal/women's health
  • Knowledge and experience in working with issues of attachment, bereavement, trauma, child protection, and domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated high-level negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills
  • Post-graduate experience in working with Indigenous people and marginalised groups
