Job Title: Mental Health Nurse

The role of a mental health nurse is to provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient setting. This involves undertaking mental, social and physical assessments, treatment and delivering continuing care for people with serious mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake mental, social and physical assessments, treatment and deliver continuing care for inpatients with serious mental illness.
  • Report to the Nurse Unit Manager and work with the Department Manager, Clinical Nurse, Team and Shift Leaders to ensure high-quality patient care in line with Ramsay Health Care values and strategic direction.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
  • Minimum two (2) years post-graduate experience.
  • Enrolled Nurses: medication endorsement and IV qualification.
  • Previous experience in mental health.
  • Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration.
