The role of a Security Officer can be performed in various sectors and roles. This Position Description outlines general duties and serves as a guide.
About the Role
The primary responsibility is to provide a security presence while remaining alert and focused. As part of an enthusiastic, committed, and customer-focused team, you will:
- Patrol premises regularly;
- Monitor surveillance cameras and equipment;
- Authorize entrance of people and vehicles;
- Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel and visitors;
- Report any suspicious behaviors and happenings to supervisors;
- Respond to alarms or suspicious noises in a timely manner;
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity.
Requirements
- Current SA Security License and Driver's license;
- Certificate 2 and/or Certificate 3 in Security Operations;
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods;
- Excellent observational and surveillance skills;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Current First Aid Certificate.
