Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our Food Services Team at Western Private Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering nutritious meals to our patients, working in a casual capacity with a view to permanent part-time in the future.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation and cooking of meals for residents with varied dietary requirements and preferences.
- Ensure timely and efficient service during mealtimes, providing excellent customer service to residents.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to safe food handling practices and HACCP guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the Chef Manager and kitchen team to ensure a smooth food preparation and service operation.
- Support the team and assist the Chef Manager during absences.
- Previous experience working in a bulk catering role within a healthcare/aged care environment.
- Competency in food preparation, plating, and serving, with a focus on delivering high-quality meals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A good level of communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and demonstrate empathy with patients.
- Flexibility to support the team, ability to follow schedules and backfill leave absences with extra shifts.
