Job Overview

This is a pivotal role within our team, where you will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure seamless execution of our airline catering business.

About the Position

You will be the central point of contact for operational matters between us and airlines, as well as the conduit for communication between the operations team and clients. This role supports the Unit Manager and the business to achieve its goals of meeting daily production schedules and running operations efficiently and safely.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish Strong Partnerships: Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Relay Information: Communicate changes to orders from aircraft to internal departments.
  • Represent the Business: Represent us at internal and external functions, promoting our company and products positively.
  • Participate in Audits: Participate in regular audits and quality controls.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice to client airlines on customer service, logistical, and customs information.
  • Improve Customer Service: Improve customer service quality by obtaining feedback from clients.
  • Establish Communication Standards: Establish communication service standards and implement company productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Address Performance Issues: Proactively address performance issues, identify areas of non-performance, and provide support to prevent future occurrences.
  • Contribute to Cost Management: Contribute to operational cost management through education and training.
  • Implement Planning Strategies: Implement strategies for planning and forecasting using business tools, systems, and resources.
  • Lead and Guide Staff: Build rapport and provide leadership and guidance to all staff while on shift.
  • Assist Unit Manager: Assist the Unit Manager in managing daily operations, including the Production Kitchen, Stores, Purchasing, and Customer Delivery team.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A positive attitude towards challenges.
  • Knowledge or experience in Client or Account Management is preferred but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Food Safety and HACCP practices is desirable.
  • Availability to work a rotating shift roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solutions-focused and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the airline catering industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Possession of a current clean MR or HR Driver's License is preferred but not essential.
  • Availability for occasional out-of-hours work to meet flight schedule demands.
  • Competence in documentation and records management.
  • Ability to obtain an ASIC pass and an Airside Driver's Authority.
  • Requirement to obtain a clear National Police Check.
