APAC Senior Counsel

This is a newly created senior leadership position offering the opportunity to build and lead the legal function across Asia-Pacific.
Main Responsibilities:- Establish and drive the APAC legal strategy, aligning it with commercial and corporate objectives.
- Serve as trusted advisor to the regional executive team, supporting strategic growth initiatives and commercial decision-making.
- Oversee complex commercial contracts, IP/licensing, supplier agreements, and dispute resolution.
- Support regional M&A activity in collaboration with the Corporate Development team.
- Partner with Compliance to manage regulatory matters, incident response, and legal risk across APAC jurisdictions.
- Lead the regional Commercial team, fostering high performance, professional development, and operational excellence.
- Manage relationships with external legal service providers and optimize external legal spend.
- Australian-qualified solicitor with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong expertise in commercial law, ideally in technology or SaaS.
- Proven track record as a legal or functional team leader, preferably within a technology-focused or private equity-backed environment.
- Experience working in an organization undergoing change - transformation would be beneficial.
- Background working in a global matrix structure would also be advantageous.
- International legal experience across APAC is highly valued.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Commercially astute, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented.
- Demonstrated success in driving business improvements and legal transformation.
