Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Development Manager to drive the success of state-wide sports competitions and participation programs.

This role will lead the development and delivery of sport competitions and learn-to-play programs across multiple sites, champion grassroots sports, and support staff, communities, and partnerships to deliver high-quality, inclusive sporting experiences for young people.

A key requirement of this role is demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of social sports competitions in a multisite capacity - including scheduling, team and participant coordination, competition rules and regulations, and fostering positive participant experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of sport competitions and skills-based programs across multiple locations.
  • Drive strategy, participation, and performance to ensure high-quality, inclusive sporting experiences for young people.
  • Champion grassroots sports while supporting staff, engaging with communities, and building strong partnerships.
  • Oversee the delivery and growth of club-level sports activities, including sports competitions and skills-based programs.
  • Work with teams to improve operations, maximise participation, and maintain high safety, quality, and inclusion standards.
  • Develop tools, templates, and best-practice guides to streamline program delivery.
  • Identify and act on revenue opportunities, local marketing needs, and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to recruit, support, and upskill staff involved in sports delivery.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leaders on participation trends and program performance.

Key Deliverables: High-quality, inclusive sporting experiences for young people; improved operations, participation, and safety standards; and streamlined program delivery.
