Technical Lead

  • Our team is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead our efforts in adapting Canonical's products to automotive and industrial specific requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing Canonical and Ubuntu in the industrial and automotive community and standards consortia.
  • We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent technical leadership skills to help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  • This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of timely delivery and high-quality software, as well as experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers.
  • Additionally, the candidate should have experience working in an agile development environment and have a passion for developing and growing people.
  • A strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of automotive and industry standards such as ISO21434, ISO26262, SOTIF, IEC 65108, and ideally having led product development initiatives that fulfilled compliance with one or more of the mentioned standards.
  • In-depth knowledge in Linux packages and embedded development, as well as experience in C/C++ and Python programming.
  • Practical experience in automotive, including functional safety, embedded systems, cloud, and related software trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background.
  • Knowledge of automotive and industry standards such as ISO21434, ISO26262, SOTIF, IEC 65108, and ideally having led product development initiatives that fulfilled compliance with one or more of the mentioned standards.
