Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Primary K-6 Teacher to join our school community and play a vital role in enriching the lives of our students.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching programs that cater to the physical, social, and intellectual development of students.
  • They will be required to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment and implementing effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as the teacher will need to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure student success.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Lesson Planning and Delivery
  • The ability to structure lessons to meet the physical, social, and intellectual development of students.
  • Extensive knowledge of the content and sequence of Key Learning Areas, including Religious Education.
Teaching and Learning Strategies
  • Able to understand and apply fundamental concepts, structure, and enquiry processes relevant to programs they develop and teach.
  • Understand what constitutes effective, developmentally appropriate strategies in their learning and teaching programs and use this knowledge to make the content meaningful to students.
Classroom Management
  • Able to create and maintain safe, inclusive, and challenging learning environments.
  • Implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans.
Student Assessment and Reporting
  • Able to evaluate all aspects of their teaching practice to ensure they are meeting the learning needs of their students.
  • Interpret and use student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance.
Community Engagement
  • Able to engage with school communities within and beyond the classroom to enrich the educational context for students.
  • Work to promote the links between school, home, and community in the social and intellectual development of their students.
