Job Description:

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the delivery of educational programs for gifted students. This involves designing and delivering engaging lesson plans, adapting curriculum to meet the unique needs of gifted learners, and creating a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

\
  • Design and deliver high-quality instructional content for gifted students in Years 3-10
  • Adapt and expand curriculum to meet the diverse learning needs of gifted learners
  • Establish a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking
  • Manage student behavior and implement inclusive practices to promote positive relationships and outcomes
  • Assist with reporting and safety requirements, including student attendance and health management
  • Mentor and support the development of UNSW students who assist in the programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree and subsequent experience in teaching or equivalent
  • Experience working with groups of children in Years 3-10 (required)
  • Knowledge of best practices in gifted education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with child-friendly Learning Management Systems (LMS) and project-based learning units
