About the Role

This is a strategic opportunity to lead a large team across multiple locations in the delivery of technical and operational excellence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a high level of strategic thinking, excellent leadership skills, and experience in managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a strong capable team to deliver effective services to operational customers
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Define and drive standardization of processes in partnership with peers
  • Develop and implement operational strategy in collaboration with Operational and Functional partners
  • Support the delivery of Minerals Australia and Global priorities
  • Build capability and capacity within project teams through coaching, mentoring and advice on operational strategies and procedures
  • Participate in governance of Internal Audit and Assurance programs
  • Manage and support execution of work that is the accountability of the team

About You

You will be an experienced leader with demonstrated experience leading a diverse team in the mining or similar industry. A passion for developing others through coaching, mentoring, rewarding and guiding is essential.

Requirements:

  • 10 year or more of experience in Operations or related field
  • Experience in Projects or Construction is highly regarded
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated capability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders at a senior management level
  • Well-developed professional expertise in operational areas
  • Tertiary degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Detailed knowledge of key concepts related to effective operational risk management
