About the Role

James Cook University seeks an exceptional senior academic to lead the Research Division as Dean, Research. As a member of the executive team, you will play a crucial role in driving research excellence, integrity, and impact across the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality advice to the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research on strategic and operational matters related to research, particularly research partnerships and infrastructure.
  • Lead the Research Division, working collaboratively to support the research performance of the Colleges and Research Institutes.
  • Develop and implement research policies, procedures, and initiatives to drive research performance across the university.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government, industry, and university partners.
  • Oversee JCU's research infrastructure, including field stations, central research facilities, research data management, and high-performance computing capabilities.
