Job Overview

This position plays a key role in providing leadership and strategic direction to the Science faculty.

The Learning Area Leader will lead curriculum planning, pedagogy, teacher professional growth, and administrative processes within the faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Faculty Vision: Establish a clear vision for the faculty aligned with the College's Learning Framework.
  • Pedagogical Leadership: Lead pedagogy within the faculty and College, developing processes to support staff development and the College's Learning Framework expectations.
  • Unit Development: Develop and disseminate units of work that meet authority and regulatory body requirements.
  • Student Support: Identify and support at-risk students within the Science faculty.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support students in areas including academic improvement, organisation, and study skills specific to the Science Faculty.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Current Queensland Teacher Registration or capacity to obtain
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent, and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated achievement in school leadership
  • Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development and employing authority Policy and Procedure
