Forensic Clinician

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced professionals in psychology, social work, mental health nursing, occupational therapy, counselling or psychotherapy to join our team of forensic clinicians. Forensic clinical experience is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualised services including comprehensive assessments, clinical interviews, treatment interventions, and preparing treatment plans and reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, best-practice forensic intervention.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Travel to correctional facilities as required.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must hold, or be eligible for, one of the following qualifications:
  • General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • A master's degree in psychotherapy and registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
  • A master's degree in counselling and membership with the Australian Counselling Association or registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.

About Our Team

We are a specialist program area of Corrections Victoria that provides people in custody and in the community with offence-specific, evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services to support their rehabilitation. We hold portfolios and expertise in critical areas such as Violent and Sexual offending, Violent Extremism, Restorative Justice, Family Violence and people with cognitive impairment.

What You'll Do:
