Job Title: Senior Legal Leadership Position

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to lead our team of lawyers. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal services that support the empowerment of women and children.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise lawyers and support staff to deliver culturally safe and client-focused legal services.
  • Manage complex or sensitive matters where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, professional, and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee service planning, evaluation, and reporting in collaboration with leadership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support law reform, advocacy, and systemic change initiatives.
  • Work alongside the HR team to assist with recruitment, staff onboarding, and workforce development.

 

About You:

To qualify, you will need to be a qualified legal practitioner holding an unrestricted practicing certificate (or eligible to hold), with the capacity to supervise others. You will also require a Working with Children Check and a National Police Check.

 

A minimum of four years' experience at a senior level in family law, family violence law, child protection, or victims of crime assistance is essential.

 

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management
  • Strong ability to mentor, supervise, and develop lawyers and support staff
  • Experience in service delivery design, community legal education, and stakeholder engagement
  • Understanding of systemic issues impacting women
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as risk management and legal panel
