About the Role

VMCH is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality, person-centered services to our elderly clients. As an Occupational Therapist with VMCH, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing interventions to promote independence, safety, and positive health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address clients' goals and objectives, and provide ongoing support and guidance to clients and their caregivers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and caregivers, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and transitions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and research to ensure evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centered care to our elderly clients. You will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience working in aged care, home and community services, or gerontology, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of older adults.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a high level of independence and self-motivation.
