Job Overview

This role will be responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop ideas, turn them into deliverable projects, and contribute to project effectiveness.

The successful candidate will oversee project implementation, including contract administration, stakeholder engagement, communication, and project reporting.

They will also provide technical and project advice to various stakeholders and assist in managing the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) portfolio, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

Additionally, they will be part of a team delivering the annual capital works program by working collaboratively in the Facilities and Asset team and the wider Northcott organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support in facilities and building services environments, with an emphasis on buildings within the disability sector.
  • Project planning skills, management, and delivery skills, as well as experience with contract management in a building services context.
  • Knowledge and understanding of application guidelines, Work Health and Safety (WH&S) legislation, and regulations.
  • Northcott's procurement and tendering processes, building services, and infrastructure, including building codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, providing a consistently high level of service.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace new technologies, methods, products, and processes in pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports and prepare external correspondence.
Typical Duties:
  1. Project Planning: Develop and document project scope, tasks, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements. Identify potential risks and include mitigation strategies.
  2. Manage the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) portfolio, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, including up-to-date tenancy agreements.
  3. Communicate and document project status, updates, and issues to stakeholders, manage their expectations, organize, and lead project meetings.
  4. Oversee the allocation and use of resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget for a project.
  5. Implement quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.
  6. Create and manage the project budget, ensuring costs are controlled, and expenses are within approved limits.
  7. Evaluate and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring changes are properly documented and communicated.
  8. Ensure all project deliverables are completed and meet acceptance criteria. Perform a project review to assess what went well, what could be improved, and document lessons learned.
  9. Ensure a smooth transition of project deliverables to the client or end-users and complete any final documentation.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • A relevant degree and suitable experience, or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and significant relevant experience.
  • Occupational Health and Safety General Induction ticket for entry to construction sites.
  • Experience in project management, planning, design, and delivery of built environment projects is preferable.
  • Ability to provide good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and other Northcott business applications.
