Health and Hygiene Advisor Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Hygiene Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based in Brisbane and report directly into the Group Manager, Health, Wellbeing and Occupational Hygiene.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing pre-employment medical and health monitoring programs for business units and projects.
  • Supporting the implementation of our Health Risk Assessment and exposure monitoring program.
  • Designing wellbeing initiatives and promoting employee health and safety.
  • Maintaining databases of employee health records and occupational hygiene exposure data.
  • Ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Generating reports, tracking trends, and monitoring actions using database resources.
  • Crafting training programs to achieve business objectives in occupational health, wellbeing, and hygiene.
  • Liaising with authorities and regulatory bodies regarding nationwide health issues.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Allied Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Nursing (Occupational Health), or related field.
  • Formal qualifications recognized by the AIOH or working towards provisional membership.
  • At least 3 years' experience in occupational health and hygiene or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of medical terminology, health assessment techniques, and relevant legislation.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in database management and software applications.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
