Electro-Mechanical Specialist

Ignite is seeking an electro-mechanical specialist to join their team. As a field service engineer, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites across Sydney.

The work environment is typically airports, cargo facilities, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise terminals, or other locations as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out service, maintenance, and installation of electrical, electronic, mechanical equipment, and systems;
  • Inspection, repair, testing, and adjustments of equipment;
  • Provision of technical support to customers and sales/project staff;
  • Maintenance of technical skills and development of technical knowledge;
  • Liaison with Company factories and support staff as required;
  • Work closely with 3rd party service providers;
  • Maintenance of appropriate technical licenses, security licenses, and security passes;
  • Provision of basic safety and operator training on completion of any installation or new works;
  • Exercises every available measure to control and minimize costs;
  • Regional support travel on overtime beyond work hours may be required;
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental policies;
  • Other duties as required by the Team Lead.
You:
  • Electro-mechanical qualification or equivalent technical training/experience;
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a minimum of 3 years' experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment;
  • Be a self-motivated and proactive individual with a high level of initiative and desire to succeed;
  • Advanced level of oral and written English to be able to communicate with multiple stakeholders;
  • Due to the security industry requirements, to be successful in this role, you would need to be able to pass all the relevant security clearance processes, imposed by the customer and/or site;
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once;
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations;
  • Self-starter, being able to work autonomously with minimal supervision;
  • Clean driver's license;
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relevant security clearance and industry-related licenses;
  • Able to work a rotating roster, Morning shift - Afternoon - Night shifts.
