The role of a Foster Carer Case Worker is to train, assess and develop carers to provide safe and nurturing homes for children who cannot reside with family.

As a key member of our team in Toowoomba, you will represent the voice and needs of our carers, promoting their ongoing development as volunteers in the Out of Home Care Sector.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding theoretical frameworks relevant to children in alternative care.
  • Advocating on behalf of those in need and achieving outcomes through demonstration of skills.
  • Application of assessment skills to ensure effective support for carers.
  • Conflict resolution, influence and negotiation skills to promote positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of statutory and related service systems as they relate to out of home care.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work or community services recognised in Australia.
  • Experience working in the Out of Home Care sector, particularly with complex families.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and professional judgement.
