Explosives Specialist - Ensure Quality Drilling Services

The Explosives Specialist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality blasting services to open pit mining teams. This permanent full-time position involves working at our Pilgangoora Operation, which operates on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Blast Preparation and Execution: Assist shotfirers with on-bench activities, including blasthole QA/QC, priming, loading, stemming, and off-siding MMU's as directed.
  2. Drilling Accuracy and Optimization: Check drilling activities for accuracy and identify issues early to minimize redrills.
  3. Blast Safety and Security: Perform blast guard duties before blasting to ensure safety and remove personnel from the area.
  4. Quality Control and Improvement: Utilize Blast IQ to optimize blasting and maintain quality records.
  5. Health and Safety Standards: Maintain occupational health and safety standards and report any incidents or hazards.
  6. Task Management and Completion: Complete Take-5's before starting tasks and midway through if conditions change.

This role requires professional diligence, respect, and fairness towards others. Good working relationships with superiors, peers, and external clients are essential.
