Project OverviewThe project aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of industries by developing innovative electrochemical and other techniques that exploit the levers for high efficiency in electrolysers. The research will involve studying and optimising electrochemical engineering aspects of alkaline electrolysis cells, including those being commercialised by industry partner Hysata.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on electrochemical engineering aspects of alkaline electrolysis cells
- Develop and study improved components for alkaline electrolysis cells
- Investigate electrochemical corrosion in alkaline electrolysis cells and systems
- Collaborate with industry partner Hysata to advance the manufacture of high-efficiency water electrolysers
- PhD in a relevant field such as Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related field
- Track record of successful academic and/or industrial research
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake collaborative research in a multi-disciplinary team
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills in English
- Well-developed organisational skills with an ability to meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and procedures
