Job Title: Data Architect

Our client, a large QLD State Government agency, is seeking an experienced Data Architect to work on a long-term data program. This program is enabling data capability and maturity across the organisation.

The program supports improvement to data access, data analytics, processes, learning artefacts, policies and structures to ensure data is always managed the right way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of the Data Framework and enterprise data architecture, including associated tasks, in collaboration with the Program team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements across the organisation to inform the design and implementation of the enterprise data model and integration processes.
  • Review and analyse current state infrastructure, systems, and approaches, and provide recommendations on solutions to improve data management.
  • Design data integration solutions to connect various data sources, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
  • Develop architecture documentation to support program outputs and ensure they meet quality assurance standards.
  • Contribution to program and project plans, and technology assessments, and recommend new data technologies and tools to improve data architecture and data management practices.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
  • Understanding of data security and privacy regulations.
  • Contribution to risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Higher learning degree, or similar, in data science and/or computer science and/or information technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or a related field.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in best practice data architecture, is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of contemporary technologies, languages, and standards to manage data effectively is crucial.
  • Strong background in data management, data integration, and data governance, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
  • Experience with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse is highly desirable.
