Job Role Overview

The Facilities Shift Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and effective operation of the site. This position is part of a team responsible for 24/7 oversight, monitoring, operation, and control of all site infrastructure, utilities, and equipment.

This vital role encompasses various responsibilities, including the monitoring and control of site infrastructure and equipment, conducting safe configuration changes and equipment isolation, technical assessment and documentation writing and review, routine equipment inspection, data collection, and metric reporting, maintenance and repair of equipment and components, complete reports, incident, and event data collection, investigating and reviewing system anomalies, leading and contributing to the development of technical processes and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements.

Requirements:
  • A relevant industry or trade assistance experience position or equivalent experience and skills
  • Applicable trades may include: Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Communications/Cabling, Fire technician, Plant/system control, Security or CCTV systems
  • Or experience in related facilities operations or SCADA system operations
  • A strong understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, and corrective)
  • Understanding of technical plans and drawings; ability to read and assess plans and/or technical documents
