Job Description

The Senior Surgical Booking Clerk plays a key role in the elective surgery process, ensuring that patients receive timely and efficient care. This involves managing the elective surgery waitlist, as per the Ministry of Health Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy.

This position requires strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with health professionals and stakeholders.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience: In managing front-line administrative services, with the capacity to guide and mentor staff and build a cohesive team.
  • Well-developed skills: In interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and negotiation, to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse health professionals and stakeholders.
  • Data entry skills: Comprehensive and proven accurate data entry skills, with experience in Microsoft Office Applications, databases, and ICT infrastructure.
  • Organisational skills: High-level organisational skills, exercising confidentiality and sensitivity, with the ability to exercise initiative and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills: High-level analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills, with the ability to make decisions and create solutions that ensure continuity of service provision.
  • Driver's licence: Current unrestricted driver's licence, with the ability to drive/travel as required, which may involve driving long distances.
