Insurance Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Insurance Specialist to support our commercial insurance operations. This role will involve working closely with underwriters and offshore teams to ensure efficient service delivery, accurate documentation, and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to process quotes, name clearances, and binding of quotes in a timely manner.
  • Work proactively with underwriting teams to ensure smooth account handovers and accurate information processing.
  • Implement system procedures and create instruction documents to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain complete documentation of handled files on the document management system.
  • Account for correct premium, commission, and tax bookings in processing systems.
  • Monitor implementation progress and liaise with local staff to resolve queries.
  • Implement mid-term endorsements, issue certificates of insurance, and monitor premium collection in accordance with processing rules and guidelines.
  • Address client/broker requests immediately and refer to underwriters as needed.
  • Develop expert-level knowledge of systems and processes, staying up-to-date with new guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure data quality accuracy ratios meet defined metrics.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Permanent Australian working rights are required.
  • Effective communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative skills to work with virtual teams.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Attention to detail and ability to get things right first time.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Continuous improvement focus, willing to ask questions and explore new ideas.
  • Results-oriented approach, proactive, and able to prioritize multiple work streams without compromising quality.
