About the Role

We are seeking an Aviation Protection Officer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for passenger and baggage screening, maintaining a secure airport environment.

This part-time position offers a minimum of 24 hours per week on a rotating roster, with flexibility to work split shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Aviation Protection Officers play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers at Ballina Airport.

  • Conduct thorough screening of passengers, staff, and baggage, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting passengers with a professional demeanor.
  • Monitor security checkpoints, oversee traffic flow, and ensure proper procedures are followed at all times.
  • Perform frisk and bag searches, generate incident reports, patrol the premises, and control access to sensitive areas.
  • Operate security technology, including metal detectors and X-ray machines.
Requirements for this Role
  • A NSW Security License
  • An Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) clearance or ability to obtain
  • A Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) & Certificate II in Security Operations
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications
  • A Current Driver license
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently, and maintain strong customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings, national police checks, and medical assessments
