About the Role

The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of tasks under the direction of the Health Services Manager - Primary Care, including equipment repair and maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, and fire safety equipment management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities
  • Ensure fire safety equipment is functioning properly and conduct regular drills
  • Implement policies and procedures and participate in related initiatives
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
  • Travel to Third Crossing Manor and MacGregor Health Centre as required
Qualifications
  • Grade XII education
  • Two years recent experience in general maintenance or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and relevant legislation
  • 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate an asset
  • Experience in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, heating, or air-conditioning required
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Proficiency in both official languages essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality
  • Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment

Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
