Mechanical Team Lead

As a Mechanical Team Leader at Cement Australia, you will be responsible for leading and participating in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) training, communication sessions, and toolbox talks to ensure SHE is a top priority in maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and participate in SHE training, communication sessions, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure Risk Assessments are completed accurately.
- Conduct frequent safety observations and mentor/coach team members as needed.
- Manage day-to-day work responsibilities for site mechanical workers.
- Develop and manage a 2-4 week maintenance plan, including review of spares and costs.
- Inspect and maintain plant equipment to achieve budgeted plant performance KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions and implement process improvements.
- Provide support and resources for plant breakdowns.
- Collaborate with planners to develop and deliver the weekly plan.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maximize the value of maintenance spend.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Trade qualification in mechanical maintenance.
- Experience in heavy industry or mining.
- Proven leadership and team building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to influence a positive safety culture.
- Understanding of SAP/CMMS maintenance systems and processes.
- Solid Microsoft Office suite experience.
