High Hazard Property Underwriting Manager

We are seeking an experienced High Hazard Property Underwriting Manager to join our team at Suncorp Group. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for the execution, strategy, and financial performance of our High Hazard Property product.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a cohesive underwriting plan and service/value proposition to our intermediaries through the execution of the High Hazard Property product strategy.
- Emphasize solution-oriented underwriting by excelling in customer service fundamentals, standardizing underwriting practices across the national team, and implementing processes to accurately evaluate and manage opportunities.
- Deliver and continually improve the High Hazard Property product strategies, including target markets/key brokers, product differentiation, appetite, underwriting execution strategy, risk engineering, reinsurance, technology, and more.
- Work closely with Distribution to build market awareness and strengthen broker relationships to ensure a seamless experience for our intermediaries and mutual clients.
- Execute on the go-to-market proposition and distribution strategy for High Hazard Property, focusing on existing partners and those with the highest growth potential.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive product training to key broker partners, supported by detailed risk appetite statements, loss bulletins, and other educational materials.
- Minimum 8 years of commercial experience in insurance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio, underwriting, reinsurance, and pricing practices.
- Ability to develop overall direction for the business area and establish measurable goals by assessing internal and external opportunities.
- Solid understanding of the general insurance industry and the external marketplace when delivering to customers and brokers.
- Ability to drive accountability and commitment to the achievement of goals by setting goals aligned to Suncorp's strategic objectives.
