Career Opportunity for a Skilled Culinary Professional

Sydney Zoo is seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in providing outstanding food and beverage experiences for our visitors.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume catering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

- Ensure all food preparation and cooking meets health and safety regulations and complies with relevant laws and industry standards.

- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency.

- Develop and manage budgets for food and supplies, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified chef in a high-volume catering environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high-performance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
