The Role:

A dynamic Paediatric Dentist is required to provide inpatient and outpatient dental care to children with a broad range of medical conditions and special needs. The successful candidate will work with both the senior and junior dental registrars in the paediatric dental outpatient clinic with professional support from Consultant Paediatric Dentists within the Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provide comprehensive dental care to eligible patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Work with junior medical staff members in managing eligible inpatients and outpatients in clinics, wards and under general anesthesia.
  • Coordinate dental care in consultation with the medical or multidisciplinary team where necessary.
  • Participate in continuing education within the RCH and Department and participate in staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated capacity to work harmoniously and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead by example in providing the highest quality clinical care to children and young people.
  • Basic degree in Dental Science or international equivalent recognized by AHPRA.
  • Successfully completed a three year Masters or Clinical Doctorate programme in Paediatric Dentistry or international equivalent.
