Position Overview:
Full-Time Fixed-Term Paediatric Dentistry FellowAn exceptional opportunity is available for a full-time, fixed-term position as a Paediatric Dentistry Fellow within the Dentistry department. The role involves delivering both inpatient and outpatient dental services to children facing a variety of medical challenges and special requirements. The Fellow will be responsible for the emergency treatment of acute dental injuries during and outside of regular hours. The successful candidate will collaborate with both senior and junior dental registrars in the paediatric dental outpatient clinic, receiving professional guidance from Consultant Paediatric Dentists in the department. This role is tailored for paediatric dentists who have a keen interest in managing patients with intricate medical needs, multidisciplinary care, and dental emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver comprehensive dental care to eligible patients in an outpatient environment. Collaborate with junior medical staff in the management of eligible inpatients and outpatients across clinics, wards, and during general anesthesia. Facilitate dental care coordination in consultation with the medical or multidisciplinary team as required. Engage in ongoing education within the organization and the department, and participate in staff meetings.Qualifications and Skills:
Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a small team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated capability to lead by example in delivering high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents. Basic degree in Dental Science or an internationally recognized equivalent acknowledged by AHPRA. Completion of a three-year Master's or Clinical Doctorate program in Paediatric Dentistry or an equivalent international program, adhering to the guidelines set by the European or American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry.Why Choose This Opportunity?
