About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Amenity Enforcement Officer (Animal Management) to join our team. As a key member of our Local Laws department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and amenity of our city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce relevant Acts, Regulations, and Council's Local Laws applicable to animal management.
  • Issue Infringement notices and record details relevant to the Infringement notices in line with Council policies and procedures.
  • Undertake daily foot and/or vehicular patrols of specific areas, including all parks within the Municipality.
  • Investigate complaints received and resolve them in a timely and professional manner, in line with Council policies and procedures.
  • Interview, advise, and educate members of the public through various means, including face-to-face, telephone, written, and public forums.
  • Maintain a diary of all activities, taking responsibility for the investigation of complaints, enforcement action, and provision of a timely response to Customer Service requests.
  • Prepare reports relating to enforcement action and attend Court as required.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate 4 in Government (Statutory Compliance) or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and interpret Acts and Regulations and decide on an appropriate course of action.
