About the Role

As a Registered Midwife at St John of God Health Care in Ballarat, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality care to pregnant women and their families. Your role will involve supporting patients through every step of their journey to becoming parents, from antenatal clinics to postnatal care.

The Position Overview

  • Provide necessary care to meet patient needs on the ante and post-natal ward and general ward allocated to your care.
  • Interview and examine patients, documenting assessment findings.
  • Promote an environment of confidence, confidentiality, and respect, identifying problems through discussion with patients, family, and relevant others.
  • Assess and document anticipated needs of pregnant women and families during and following hospitalisation.
  • Perform planned nursing care, setting priorities and re-establishing them in changing circumstances.
  • Routinely review results of diagnostic procedures and investigations.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Midwife.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current midwifery practices and trends, including Trends in infant nutrition.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
