Pavement Maintenance Specialist

The role of Pavement Maintenance Specialist plays a vital part in the ongoing upkeep of urban infrastructure requiring the safe operation of tar trucks and related equipment. The position will also involve duties relevant to Council's operations according to work instructions requested by the Urban Overseer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining tar trucks with daily checks, safety inspections, oil and coolant checks, securing loads and equipment.
  • Loading, transporting materials and dispatching coldmix/hotmix material while adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Operating Flow Con with the tar patching unit in a safe manner and in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and recommendations.
  • Establishing effective traffic procedures by setting up correct traffic control on worksites in accordance with traffic control plans.
  • Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
About You:
  • You must possess an MR Truck Licence.
  • Holding a WHS General Induction for Construction Certificate (White Card) is mandatory.
  • A Traffic Control Stop/Slow (Blue Card) certification is required.
  • You should be willing to undertake additional training.
  • Demonstrate experience in truck driving.
  • Show commitment to Work Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity.
