We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our dynamic team within the Australian Federal Government.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to contribute to the sound financial management of a government agency. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance and providing critical financial advice to support decision-making at a high level.

  • Manage and undertake complex financial tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end processes.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit reports in compliance with the Commonwealth financial management framework.
  • Oversee financial systems and processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with audit activities and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A proven track record in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the Commonwealth financial management framework and relevant accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
