Software Development Expert

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Automation Platform team in a fast-paced Agile environment. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from systems analysis and design to development, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse system requirements and develop technical designs that meet business needs.
- Develop and maintain application software using Java, Python, and other relevant technologies.
- Conform to quality assurance standards and agreed processes within the department.
- Support the application software by responding to incidents, analysing and fixing problems, and performing unit and integration testing.
- Identify technical improvements that will benefit the business and provide input to business systems solutions, estimates, and specifications.
- Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts, and contribute to solution design and costing.
- Utilise agile principles and practices in your work and promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Over 3 years' experience as a Software Developer with technical skills and capabilities in Java, Python, Groovy, Spring, Bash, JSON, React, NodeJS, Maven, Jenkins, Cloud Formation, AWS Serverless Framework, and version control software such as Git.
- Experience in Cloud services (AWS) such as Lambda, SNS/SQS, Step Functions, Cloudwatch, DynamoDB, and EC2.
- Previous experience in a large enterprise organisation is desirable.
- Experience working in an Agile development/delivery environment.
- Experience in Test Driven Development using Junit and mocking.
- Able to work closely with other disciplines, particularly business analysts, and have good communication skills and a desire to collaborate on design and development.
