Family Services Practitioner Role

We are seeking a dedicated Family Services Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide quality interventions and services that focus on outcomes for families experiencing vulnerability.

Your primary objective is family reunification. You will work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

To be successful in this role, you will need a solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria. You must also have experience managing risk and wellbeing, and the ability to work within the Best Interest Framework.

You will undertake regular risk and needs assessments and case management using evidence-based frameworks and interventions. Your excellent written, verbal and collaborative communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.

The role requires flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program. You will be required to provide support to team members and work collaboratively with other teams and agencies.

Key Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria
  • Experience managing risk and wellbeing
  • Ability to work within the Best Interest Framework
  • Understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people
  • Excellent written, verbal and collaborative communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program
