Pet Products Strategist

This role is part of a newly created position at a leading pet retailer, aiming to shape the company's future.
The organization has experienced significant growth over 18 years, expanding from a single store on Sydney's northern beaches to a national household name with numerous stores across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team and provide essential support to the General Manager of Product across all dog and cat category functions within the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end management of all dog and cat product categories, including reviewing ranges, pricing, and category optimisation.
- Analyse category performance and strategic projects, delivering insights and recommendations that enhance customer experience and commercial outcomes.
- Owning the promotional pricing execution and communication across the team.
- Drive product innovation and development of private label products.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 3-5 years of experience in a procurement analyst or assistant role within Retail or FMCG.
- A proven ability to manage product category end to end in specialty retail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
- A passion for pets and a customer-first mindset.
