Key Responsibilities:

  • Painting internal and external walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces
  • Removing old paint to prepare surfaces
  • Mixing colours or oils to obtain desired colours or consistencies
  • Calculating amounts of required materials and estimating costs based on surface measurements and/or work orders

Additional Requirements:

  • Reading work orders or receiving instructions from supervisors or homeowners to determine work requirements
  • Covering surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect them during painting
  • Filling cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers
  • Polishing final coats to specified finishes
