Lead Energy Lawyer

A challenging and rewarding role is available as Senior Legal Counsel (Energy and Utilities) at a leading technology company with a powerful purpose - to scale and sustain the growth of the digital future.
The ideal candidate will report to a senior director and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and driving key energy, utilities, green power, and green energy transition workstreams across the APJ region.
- Advising on and shaping new initiatives, strategies, and processes being developed in the energy, energy transition, renewables, and utilities space to enable the expansion of data centre developments across APJ.
- Honing new skills and expertise in related workstreams such as construction, sustainability, development, procurement, and providing legal support on strategic initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Law degree from an accredited law school and current practising certificate (if required in your jurisdiction).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in energy, utilities, and renewables gained from a reputable law firm and/or within an in-house environment.
- Experience in advising across a broad range of energy and utilities-related areas including renewables, green power, energy transition, power connection, retail electricity, water supply (potable and recycled).
- Experience in advising on large infrastructure projects across Asia Pacific & Japan highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and commercial acumen to negotiations while delivering practical legal advice that manages risk.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders efficiently.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
- An enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop knowledge of the business and operations.
