Position Overview

The Maintenance Officer plays a crucial role in collaborating with the Operations Manager(s) to ensure the upkeep of our centres, fostering a secure environment for tenants, visitors, and the community while engaging effectively with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Officer will execute tasks as assigned through centre requests or the Vicinity maintenance system, ensuring all activities are performed safely and in compliance with Vicinity policies and legal standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting repairs and maintenance on both internal and external structures, including parking areas, signage, roadworks, and gates.
  2. Overseeing the maintenance and servicing of tenant facilities within the centre, such as restrooms and loading areas.
  3. Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of common areas and public amenities.
  4. Ensuring proper functioning of internal and external lighting systems.
  5. Assisting with minor capital expenditure projects within the centre.

For larger maintenance tasks, the Maintenance Officer will coordinate with qualified contractors to ensure proper execution of repairs and maintenance.

  1. Actively promote Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards within the workplace.
  2. Prioritize the safety of customers and tenants.
  3. Deliver high-quality work efficiently and within designated timeframes.
  4. Manage maintenance expenses to align with budgetary constraints.
  5. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of relevant procedures and policies.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in general maintenance, complemented by strong communication and problem-solving skills. A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and experience in contractor coordination within a maintenance context is essential. You will be recognized for your responsiveness and efficiency in addressing maintenance needs, alongside a positive attitude that enhances the overall customer experience.
