Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our Senior School Team in the HSIE Department.
The successful candidate will foster student engagement, critical thinking, and a love for learning across the key HSIE subjects: junior Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies for Years 7-12.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for HSIE and a commitment to engaging, inclusive teaching. They should also possess experience teaching Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies (Years 7-12) with understanding of the syllabus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering engaging lessons in junior Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies for Years 7-12.
- Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving through active learning and real-world applications.
- Promoting student engagement by making HSIE topics relevant to contemporary issues.
- Supporting the intellectual and personal growth of students and fostering a love for learning within the HSIE curriculum.
- Collaborating with other department members to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Contributing to pastoral care and student wellbeing in the HSIE context.
Requirements:
- Strong passion for HSIE and a commitment to engaging, inclusive teaching.
- Experience teaching Geography, History, Commerce, and Business Studies (Years 7-12) with understanding of the syllabus.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Current NESA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Team-oriented approach and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
