About the Role

The Funeral Service Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our team of professionals within the funeral service industry. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is self-directed and able to coordinate various tasks and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

  • Provide daily assistance and support in the Crematorium.
  • Prepare coffins/caskets, trimming linings, name plates, and final finishes, with possible ordering and stock requirements.
  • Offer transfer services for the deceased from home, aged care, or hospital, through to our care.
  • Maintain first-class presentation of the vehicle fleet.
  • Assist Senior Funeral Arrangement Consultants (Funeral Directors) in providing support before, during, and after funerals as needed.
  • Support with gardening, cleaning, and other general maintenance duties.
  • Elevate professionalism and high-quality standards in all aspects of work.
  • Setup for funeral services at the facility and external locations, including lowering devices, matting, chairs, and shades.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Workplace Health and Safety Training.
  • Complete general maintenance tasks as required.

You Must Have

  • An unrestricted C Class driving licence.
  • Excellent verbal and personal presentation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness to pass a pre-employment medical.
  • A police check is also required.
