Opportunity Overview
Location: Our Chichester hub is situated on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth, Broome or Karratha. We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Supervisor to provide supervision, leadership, and technical support to our high voltage (HV) and cable handling teams within our Fixed Infrastructure Services team.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our 9400E electric excavator and delivering production targets. This includes managing statutory obligations, coordinating resources, and overseeing HV cable handling and switching.
You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to uphold Fortescue's commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Holding statutory appointments as an Electrical HV Supervisor, High Voltage Operator, and nominee for Fortescue's Electrical Installing Work License.
- Leading and supervising the HV electrical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-standard work.
- Coordinating with mining leadership and planners to align cable routes with the mine plan.
- Conducting inspections, risk assessments, and statutory testing of HV systems.
- Ensuring compliance with site standards, WA Mines Safety Regulations, and Australian Standards.
- Maintaining all electrical logs, registers, and SAP work orders.
- Fostering a team culture that aligns with Fortescue's values of safety, empowerment, and integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical experience in the mining industry, with experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience with electric excavators or shovels (preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of HV systems, fault finding, and problem-solving.
- Proven experience with preparing and executing high voltage switching programs and isolation plans.
- WA Electrical License (Grade A), High Voltage Switching Certificate, and relevant OEM training.
- First Aid and Low Voltage Rescue & CPR certifications.
- Knowledge of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations and the relevant legislation for HV systems.
