About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Diversity and Inclusion Specialist to join our team at Tennis Australia. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for driving diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across WA, particularly for players with an intellectual impairment, Blind/Low Vision, and Deaf/Hard of hearing.

You will play a key role in the implementation of the DEI Operational Plan, supporting the development and delivery of inclusion strategy, programs, and events. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on creating a more inclusive and accessible tennis community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of Tennis West's DEI operational plan, driving key initiatives forward.
  • Collaborate with the DEI Lead to plan, coordinate, and execute DEI-focused events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Assist in gathering, analysing, and reporting data related to DEI initiatives across the workplace and the WA tennis community.
  • Contribute to the development of DEI communications and outreach materials.
  • Undertake other duties as required to support the DEI strategy and broader organisational goals.
Requirements
  • Strong passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially within a sports environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, work creatively, set priorities, plan work programs, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated resilience under pressure, with a high level of self-awareness to navigate dynamic and challenging environments.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A current First Aid Certificate and Driver's License.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia.
