About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager (Group Reporting) to join our Finance team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading the financial reporting and due diligence function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for all entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable local and international accounting standards.
  • Technical Accounting: Document judgement areas, prepare accounting memos, and review various accounting treatments and prepare year-end disclosures, audit committee briefing.
  • Audit Management: Ensure year-end audit close out on schedule with minimal audit adjustments.
  • Financial Due Diligence: Conduct thorough financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Compliance and Control: Ensure adequate governance, policies, procedures, and control frameworks across the business to address key risks, compliance to law/regulations/accounting standards, and integrity of the financial results.
  • ESG Reporting Implementation: Develop and implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting frameworks to meet regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Finance Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop financial professionals in the function, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks/Projects/Analysis: Lead/participate in special projects/tasks/initiatives as required from time to time, support strategic decision-making, and contribute financial expertise and insights.
  • Enhance Financial Acumen of the Business: Enhance financial literacy in the business to help understand the financial impact of decisions. This includes developing and conducting various presentations, training, and workshops.

About You

  • Strong technical accounting skills with AASB/IFRS knowledge and expertise in statutory reporting, governance, compliance, and controls.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Chartered experience in business services/advisory.
  • Construction industry experience preferable.
  • 3+ years in a similar financial position.
