The Role of Geriatric Consultant

  • Promotes patient safety and quality of care.
  • Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.
  • Works collaboratively with the Head of Department (Ho D) Geriatric Medicine and other Consultants to achieve national, state and East Metropolitan Health Service performance standards and targets.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background in geriatrics and be able to work effectively within a team environment. The position requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to promote patient safety and quality of care.

In addition to the above duties, the successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Work with the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
