Ability Action Australia is a leading provider of disability services in Australia, committed to delivering exceptional support to individuals with disabilities.

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in south west Sydney. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, providing person-centred support to NDIS participants and their families.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to have significant experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner for a registered NDIS provider or have obtained suitability at the Proficient or Advanced level via the self-assessment application pathway with the NDIS Commission.

You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong time management and organisational abilities.

A genuine passion for working in the disability sector and mentoring less experienced practitioners is essential, as is a solution-focused approach and proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
  • Evaluating, developing, and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space.
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies as per the positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community.
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions, and strengths.
  • Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners.

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary package of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including:
